A practical FAQ on what comes in the Organic Crib Essentials Bundle, when to set it up, and how to decide if this organic crib bedding set fits your nursery.
Quick answer
The Organic Crib Essentials Bundle is a two-piece set: one organic crib sheet and one waterproof mattress pad. Use it when you want a simple, organic crib bedding set that covers the two layers your baby actually touches—the sheet and the mattress protector—without buying them separately.
What this bundle does not include
The name 'crib essentials' can suggest a full bedding set, but this bundle is intentionally narrow: it pairs a sheet with a waterproof pad. It does not include a blanket, quilt, bumper, or skirt. That matters if you are shopping for an organic crib sheets and blanket set, because you will need to add any blanket separately.
The narrow scope is also the point. Many crib bedding sets bundle decorative pieces that safe-sleep guidance tells parents to keep out of the crib. This set focuses on the two functional layers you change and wash most often.
When the bundle makes sense—and when it doesn't
Choose it if you are setting up a first crib, building a diaper-bag or grandparent stash, or want a spare sheet-and-pad pair for middle-of-the-night changes. The sheet-plus-pad pairing is also useful for a bassinet-to-crib transition, since both layers are the ones that need frequent laundering.
Skip it if you already have a waterproof mattress pad you like, or if you need a full matching bedding set with a blanket and skirt. In those cases, buying the sheet alone or choosing a different organic crib bedding set is more practical than duplicating a pad.
Common questions about the Organic Crib Essentials Bundle
- What comes in a crib bundle from Modern Nursery?
- This bundle includes one organic crib sheet and one waterproof mattress pad. It is a two-piece sleep-layer set, not a full decorative bedding collection.
- Is this an organic crib bedding set?
- Yes, in the sense that both pieces are built around organic cotton and a waterproof pad. But it is a minimal set—no blanket, bumper, or skirt—so check whether you need those pieces separately. If you want an organic crib sheets and blanket pairing, plan to add a blanket on its own.
- When should I set it up?
- Set it up before your baby's first night in the crib, and keep it as your primary sheet-and-pad pair for overnight sleep. Wash both pieces according to the care label before first use.
- How many should I buy?
- One bundle covers a single crib setup. A second bundle is useful if you want a clean sheet-and-pad ready during nighttime changes or for a second sleep space. Two bundles let you rotate one through the wash without stripping the crib.
- Does the waterproof pad go under the sheet?
- Yes—place the waterproof mattress pad directly on the mattress, then fit the organic crib sheet over it. That order keeps the sheet against your baby's skin and the waterproof layer protecting the mattress.
- Is it safe for newborns?
- The bundle covers the fitted sheet and mattress protector, which are the standard layers for a newborn crib. Follow current safe-sleep guidance for your baby's sleep space, and keep blankets and pillows out of the crib. This bundle does not replace a firm, flat crib mattress—it fits over one.
Product facts
- Organic Crib Essentials Bundle: The bundle is Modern Nursery's own organic cotton crib sheet paired with a waterproof mattress pad. Buying the two layers together means you get a matched sheet-and-pad pair from one brand instead of hunting for compatible pieces.
